So as you can see from the title, the highlight of today was Emily staying awake for 45 minutes. We haven't seen her open her eyes like this since her first day out of the womb. Just wrong timing I guess, because the nurses say she opens her eyes quite a bit (at night). She has blue eyes and can sort of focus on certain objects close to her face, like Mama! and Daddy!
Clyde and Pat (our host and new extended family!) came to see Emily today also.
This morning, being Sunday and all, we went to church. Joshua and Rachel came with us, which was so nice to spend the morning with them as a family. We went to Common Ground Church located in Lake Elmo. What beautiful people! They welcomed us in and prayed for us and it felt so much like family. We were invited over for lunch at one of the elder's house and was able to meet and talk to a few more people.
Back to Emily...there seems to be some disagreement between the doctor and the surgeon about taking Emily off of the prostaglandin that keeps her heart open for more oxygen flow. Tomorrow we shall see what they agreed to do. Joel and I really want to give Emily another chance, to see if she can make it on her own without surgery.
Well, I hope all that makes sense. Thank you so much for all your prayers, for checking our blog and wanting to keep up on little Emily Grace. We will post more pictures and maybe even a video once we get the opportunity.
Hello Joel & Renee
ReplyDeleteWe got a note from Joel's grandpa about what was happening, and I just wanted to let you know that we are praying for you all.
